COZAD VFW POST #890 AUXILIARY SPONSORS VOICE OF DEMOCRACY & PATRIOT'S PEN CONTESTS Cozad VFW Post #890 Auxiliary is again sponsoring the annual Voice of Democracy and Patriot's Pen essay contests. Both contests are open to students enrolled in public, private or parochial schools or home-schooled. The theme of this year's Voice of Democracy audio essay contest, open to students in grades 9 - 12, is "America: Where do we go from here?" The top three essays at the local level will receive monetary stipends and be presented at the Veterans Day Program at Cozad High School on November 11th. "How Can I Be A Good American?" is the theme for this year's Patriot's Pen essay contest, open to all 6th, 7th & 8th grade students. The top three essay authors will be recognized at the Veterans Day Program and will also receive monetary prizes. The deadline for entering both contests in October 31st.
