The planning started in 2018, involving various committee members and businesses for support. Major sponsors included banks, foundations, hospitals, and local businesses.
The celebration kicked off with a Roaring Twenties party on December 31, 2022, followed by events such as a beard-growing contest, historical presentations, Cinco De Mayo Business After Hours, birthday celebration for Robert Henri, Co-ed Softball Tournament, and walking tours. July featured a significant Independence Celebration with various activities. In August, the Cozad Rotary's time capsule was unearthed, and new plans were made for another capsule. September saw the annual HayDays with a 150th theme.
October included a Casino Night Fundraiser, a cemetery tour, and the Cozad Community Foundation's Give Big event. November featured a city-wide Christmas Light Contest, and the year concluded in December with an old-fashioned Christmas event, including breakfast with Santa and various activities.
Mayor Marcus Kloepping and Nebraska State Senator Teresa Ibach made proclamations in December. Winners of the Christmas Light Contest were announced, and various community projects, such as a barn quilt and a mural, were sponsored.
