Joe Debben, Shari Baldonado, and Jim Baldonado

Local businessman Jim Baldonado of the Home Agency and BHA Real Estate donated $100,000 to Cozad Community Health System (CCHS), expressing gratitude for the exceptional care he received. The donation was distributed among three departments: $25,000 to Jessica Botts and the Physical Therapy Department, $25,000 to Lisa Jurjens-Harouff of the Outpatient Infusion Department, and $50,000 to Joseph Debban, APRN, with the Cozad Medical Clinic.

Jim Baldonado had been diagnosed with Necrotizing Myositis, a rare and aggressive autoimmune myopathy, and sought help from the UNMC Department of Neurological Sciences. Debban provided a comprehensive plan for Jim's treatment, leading to his recovery.

The donation allowed each recipient to use the funds as they saw fit for the benefit of the healthcare system. Botts purchased a new treadmill and pediatric toys for physical therapy, while Jurjens-Harouff planned to acquire medical equipment for various hospital departments. Debban invested in an InBody Scanner and SkinPen for the Cozad Medical Clinic.

The recipients expressed gratitude for Baldonado's generosity, emphasizing the positive impact on patient care and the expansion of medical services. CCHS CEO Robert Dyer acknowledged the profound effect of Jim's healthcare journey and thanked the Baldonado family for their generous contribution.
