Peter Osborne and Laurie Yocum at Community Chat at the Library

The Wilson Public Library in Cozad initiated Community Chats to address the information void left by the end of the Tri-City Tribune and the emergence of the Cozad LOCAL. Despite the establishment of the new local newspaper, Community Chats persist as a means to educate the community about local topics. In a recent session, Peter Osborne, Director of the Robert Henri Museum and Gallery, discussed the construction of a new gallery behind the current one, sharing insights into its history and development process. Osborne outlined the challenges faced during the refurbishment of the museum, emphasizing the need for more space as the collection grew. Discussions about the new gallery began in 2019, with construction now in progress and expected to open to the public in September or October. The new gallery will include amenities such as parking, restrooms, and an office, with the current gallery being converted into archives and a library. Osborne expressed gratitude for the generous donations towards the project and encouraged further contributions to sustain the gallery's operations.
