Cozad Telephone Company

At the Dawson County Board of Commissioners meeting on February 14th, Cozad Telephone was recognized for their longstanding service to the community, providing internet, telephone, and television services since 1902. Chairman Rick Zarek commended the company for expanding fiber optic services to rural customers. The meeting also addressed concerns about broadband services for homesteads, with discussions about the benefits of extending fiber optics. Additionally, updates were provided on courthouse remodeling and road department building projects. Sheriff Mark Montgomery expressed satisfaction with the police department's budget and reported improvements in jail facilities. The Board approved a paving agreement for East Walnut Street in Lexington to address maintenance issues, along with other routine agenda items.
