The Cozad Community Leaders hosted their annual Cake and Silent Auction at the Cozad Elks Club, raising $9,000 for the Kids of the Kingdom program at the Cozad United Methodist Church. Formerly known as the Cozad Jaycees, the event previously supported the March of Dimes but has since benefited various local organizations. This year's auction featured 145 items and 90 bidders, with additional funds raised from special items including a metal sign donated by the Cozad 150th Committee. High-dollar items included Charlie Conroy's carrot cake and Roz Trusdale's pecan rolls. The Cozad High School Culinary Arts class contributed five uniquely decorated cakes. Cozad Community Leaders presented the $9,000 check to Kids of the Kingdom during their closing ceremony, expressing gratitude to donors and recognizing the program's impact on the community. Kids of the Kingdom provides a faith-based after-school program for children, emphasizing God's love through activities, snacks, and Bible-based stories. The donation will support the program's efforts to enrich the lives of children and volunteers.
