The Cozad Fire Hall is currently located in the Police Station but the CVFD has outgrown it with more than 30 members regularly assisting with fire and ambulance calls. This has led the department to look into building or purchasing a new hall, with funds from their current raffle. (LOCAL file photo)

The Cozad Volunteer Fire Department, led by Fire Chief Jason Schneider and Assistant Rescue Chief Jennifer Schneider, has been serving the community for decades with over 30 volunteers. They are planning to purchase a new ambulance next year and are in need of a larger Fire Hall due to increased membership and new equipment. To raise funds for this endeavor, they are hosting a raffle, inspired by Todd and Michelle Starman's donation of a firepit. Raffle tickets are $5 and can be purchased from any fire department member, Nutrien Ag., or via Facebook message. The proceeds will go towards the future fire hall. The winner will be announced live on Facebook on March 5th.
