We’re excited to welcome Spencer Isaacson as the new owner of the Cozad Runza location! Spencer brings years of experience, a deep love for Nebraska, and a passion for great food and great communities.
Spencer was born and raised in Holdrege, later moving to Lincoln for college. After graduating, he jumped right into the Runza family—opening and operating the Minden Runza in 2015, then moving to Lexington in 2018 to lead that location. Today, he and his wife live in the Overton area with their three kids, and they’re thrilled to add Cozad to the Runza family.
Why Runza? For Spencer, it’s simple:
🍔 He’s always loved the food.
🌽 He’s proud to support a Nebraska‑based company.
🥗 And he believes Runza’s homemade products and fresh ingredients truly set it apart.
When longtime owner Jeff Whiting decided to downsize and focus on Gothenburg, Spencer jumped at the opportunity. Cozad’s energy, growth, and community pride made it the perfect fit.
Later this year, Spencer hopes to undergo a complete interior remodel—bringing a fresh, clean, modern look while continuing to serve the quality food you love. Spencer and his team are committed to top‑tier cleanliness and an outstanding customer experience.
Spencer looks forward to being involved in local events, fundraisers, and continuing strong partnerships with Cozad schools and businesses. The pride of the Haymakers is something he’s excited to be part of.
Jeff and his staff have done an incredible job serving Cozad for the past 20 years. Spencer is eager to build on that success and help this location—and the community—continue to grow.
And if you’re wondering… his go‑to order is the Spicy Jack Burger, though he’ll never turn down a classic Runza or one of their signature burgers.
Join us in welcoming Spencer to Cozad! Great things are ahead for our local Runza and our community. đź’›
